Headline: Limerick Guardsman Killed
The War Office, we regret to state, has announced that Private John Byrne, Irish Guards, has been killed in action. The deceased guardsman was the son of the late John Byrne, Henry St and former proprietor of the Crescent Bar and other licensed establishments. He joined the army about 12 months ago and his death has been received with regret by a wide circle of friends in the city. (TOS July 2012) |
