One of her sons used the form "VonPultz". By the time of the 1880 census, he is divorced from Mary Anne and she and her daughter are living in Richmond, Indiana with her father and four of her siblings.
Note
Obituary, included in the "Germantown (IN) Items" in the Cambridge City Tribune of Jan 11, 1917: "The remains of George Puls (sic), a well known citizen, were brought here from Arcanum, Ohio, Sunday afternoon and buried, as he requested, beside his many comrades in the Lutheran Cemetery. Services were held at the home of Mr. Kress before coming here, hence there was only the burial, at which a number of friends attended. Mr. Puls came here soon after the Civil War, in which he served in the 69th Ohio, and lived in this vicinity ever afterward. The body was accompanied by Earl Kress, J.F. Heck and D.B. Heck, who brought with them the following Obituary: George Sylvester Puls was born Dec 2, 1847 at Farmersville, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Earl Kress, in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio; Jan 5, 1917, aged 69 years, 1 month, 3 days. His father, Samuel Puls, died when his son George was 7 years old. His mother, Margaret Wearly Puls, died in 1882 at Farmersville. Mr Puls had two brothers and three sisters. He is the last of the sons to be called to eternity to render account to God for the deeds while in this present life. A sister, Mrs Ada Puls Heck, died in 1915. Feb 6, 1864, he enlisted in Company F, 69th Ohio Infantry and was honorably discharged June 9, 1865. It had been the custom of Mr Puls to visit his people in Darke County several times a year. It was on one of these visits that he became ill at the home of Mr Kress, which ended in his death. Realizing that the end was near, he requested that he be buried at East Germantown, where he lived so many years. He leaves to mourn his death his son, Frank, and his daughter Mrs. Jas Foohey. Two sisters, Mrs James Heck of Arcanum and Mrs Vall Rouch of Miamisburg, Ohio, besides other relatives and friends. (TOS Apr 2013)
