enlistment by reason of close of the war. Son

In fact, he enlisted on 14 April 1865 as a Private in the same regiment as his father (8th Indiana Infantry, Company G) and was mustered out a month later on May 15th, 1865, at the ending of the war. (Source Ancestry. com) TO'S Mar 2013 |
Note | The above is contradicted in his mother's Obituary (Cambridge City Tribune - Milton "Items" of Aug 1, 1907) which states that he "Sleeps on Southern Soil". Clearly there COULD be more than one James Sullivan in the 8th Indiana Infantry but... - TO'S Mar 2013 |
