Note | After (sr) died in 1890, his daughter, Maggie, wrote a note to the Pensions Bureau that she had a brother, William, who was mentally incapacitated. - That his efforts to get a pension as a dependent child of were unfounded (?!?).That he was 50 years old by 1890 and was mentally ill. Her brother, James, the other Civil War veteran, also signed the letter. |
Note | Date of death as per Wayne County Death Records Index (Ancestry.com) TO'S Mar 2013 |
Note | Item in the "Germantown" items" (equivalent to the Fedamore Notes in the Limerick Leader) in the Cambridge City Tribune of April 13, 1871:
"Billy Sullivan of Milton is in town on Sabbath Days, standing around at the corners and politely talking with the boys. He tells them he knows all the pretty girls of town like him. He boards at the Golman house."
Comment: The patronising/smart tone is typical of the "items" in this newspaper. But, perhaps, it bears out the family claim that Billy was intellectually challenged ? (TO'S Mar 2013) |
Note | His baptismal sponsors were John Hewson and Mary O'Brien (TOS Sept 2015) |
