Note | Only daughter from fathers 2nd marriage, never married herself. Lived in Maryville with sister Mary & family.
Mother's maiden name was Mary . |
Note | Yarn aficionado extraordinaire - especially those told by Harry Harty (as per Mary Harty)
Major composer of memorable one liners in her own right.
Incomparable entertainer of two generations of small children.
Never happier than when playing cards in a smoke-filled basement with her friends, relying on her nephew, "Frankie" to ferry several of them home afterwards to places as convenient as the Ennis Road, Patrickswell etc. |
Note | Extract from 1990 memoir of Mick O'Sullivan (Jack/Daniel):
“She was a lovely, unworldly, good-humoured, jolly, maiden-lady who acted as housekeeper for Aunt May. Very unlike her two half-sisters (May and Madge), she had quite a strong effect on both families, even into late life, by her irrepressible, rotund-figured good humour – which “mocked†her sisters’ propriety but (both of whom) loved her very much.
