Took over as Land Steward for Colonel Ogle (Odell), Rathkeale, Co. Limerick Lived on site where Old Ballywilliam Rectory was built Captain of Local White Boys, got in trouble and was gaoled with property confiscated. On release, became clerk of works with cousin Wallace who wasa builder. Involved in building St. Michaels Church, Pery Sq. Limerick Lived in Collooney St (now Wolfe Tone St.) Due to naming conventions (as outlined by Edward McLysaght in his notes about the O'Sullivan clan), his grandfather was likely to have been called Daniel,

According to May Sweetland, William re-married sometime after his wifes death in 1826-27 but the new wife was not liked by the children.

It was reported in the Limerick Chronicle that a Michael Mulvihill was hanged by the British on 29 July 1809 in Tralee, Kerry. It was said that he was among a bunch of \'White Boys\' that murdered an English landlord in his house in Glin. It\'s not clear in the article whether Mulvihill lived in Kerry or Limerick, however. William's family appears on the "Button Family Tree", maintained by Rosemary Jane Jones, Eastleigh Hampshire. She has him born in Ballingarrane, about two miles north of Rathkeale, County Limerick. This is about 6 miles from the Odell estate, where his father was steward, as per May Sweetland's 1935 memoir. (TOS Sept 2015)
